Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ON January 21 this year 30 librarians working in the field of transport and allied subjects met at the Institute of Transport to form, the Transport information Group. The group has held two further meetings and a committee, cdnsisting of Mr. H. Hinkley (Ministry of Defence. NSTIC) chairman; Miss L. Clark (Ministry of Transport) secretary ; Miss J. M. Harding (Ministry of Aviation) membership secretary ; Mr. K. C. Walker (Imperial College) programme secretary ; Miss A. Kahn (Ministry of Transport); Mr. F. Pryce (Holborn Public Libraries); Miss J. Ritchie (British Railways Board) and Mrs. J. Southgate (Institute of Transport), has been elected.

The aim of the group is to promote greater co-operation between libraries connected with transport and to provide a forum for

the exchange of information and ideas. It is hoped to effect this through a number of projects, including the compilationof a directory giving details of the publications of member libraries, the circulation of news letters containing lists of duplicate material for disposal, a union list of transport periodicals and a series of bibliographies.

So far a draft directory and a select list of abstracting and indexing journals have been produced and copies may be obtained on receipt of Is. to cover postage and packing from Mrs. J. Southgate, Institute of Transport, 80 Portland Place, London, WI.

Inquiries regarding membership should be addressed to Miss J. M. Harding at the Ministry of Aviation Ceotral Library, St. Giles Court, St. Giles High Street, London, WC2,
