Scottish Bus Group passenger services were granted last week by the Scottish Traffic Commissioners. The only exception to the increases sought was that the 5d. fare will remain unchanged. The increases will bring in an estimated €1,160,000 in a full year against an estimated €1,186,000 the companies have to meet in higher costs.
South Wales Fares Granted: Fares increases ranging from A. to 3d. have been granted by the South Wales Traffic Commissioners to United Welsh Services Ltd., Red and White Services Ltd., Thomas Bros. (Port Talbot) Ltd., South Wales Transport Co. Ltd. and the Rhondda Transport Co. Ltd. Giving their decision, the Commissioners described the increases as regrettable but inevitable."
