FOLLOWING discussions with the Transport and General Workers' Union, the British Oxygen Co., Ltd., have agreed to increase the wages of drivers and mates by 5s. per week, effective from June 7. In future, adjustments in wage rates for the transport section of the company will be related to the dates on which other employees' pay is revised.

Rates for industrial drivers in London are now: Up ,33 1 ton, £7 2s.; 1-5 tons, £7 5s., 5-8 tons, £7 9s. (Special arrangements will be made for drivers of vehicles of 8 tons or over.) Drivers of liquid oxygen vehicles will receive pay 2s. a week greater than these rates. Drivers in the medical section will be paid according to length of service, with a maximum of £7 10s. for five years. Mates over 21 in London will be paid £6 18s.
