Suitable for use on wheels of between 254mm and 458mm diameZer (10in and 18in), the air-operated Tyre Chief Major tyre changer can be operated effic:ently at pressures of 552 to 827kN/sqm (80 to 120psi). The bead breaker incorporated ;n the machine is said to break most cross-ply and a large number of radial tyres without deflation ; a special, buik-in block prevents the walls of very soft walled tyres collapsing before the bead is broken.

Wheels are clamped firmly id posit:on on the table of the machine by means of a pneumatic ram, and a lever bar is used to remove and refit the tyres.
