AN order for several tippers has been placed 'with Bromilow and Edwards, Ltd., Foundry Street,. Bolton, by one of

the leading Oil coMpanies. The first two vehicles have been built. The

chassis are -Thornycroft Trusty models of 13-ft.-5-in. wheelbase and the bodies are of U cross-section, strongly built for arduous work.

Heavy-duty tipping gear is incorporated. The pump release valve and the selector ,mechanism of the power take-off are controlled by a single column in the cab. The twin rams are mounted on a trunnion swivelling in heavy-duty hearings secured within thc chassis members.

Steel plate of T.16-in. is used for the bodies, which ai-e based on channelsection longitudinal runners. Stiffening members extend along the top edges. The taildoor is hinged at the top.
