In an effort to shift trucks from the forecourt, dealers are slashing th( deposits required by purchasing schemes. Kevin Swallow reports.

Used truck dealers are looking to go that extra mile to save you cash or give you something extra when thrashing out a deal on your latest secondhand vehicle.

Starting with the independents, Hanbury Riverside is offering free road tax on various trucks as an incentive, as well as low-to-zero deposits on selected vehicles. Manufacturers' deals Its compatriot Mercedes-Benz is at it as well, with the Actros 2543LS the latest model to be pushed. The Approved Used Commercials division has reduced the deposit for a two-year operating lease deal with repairs and maintenance included. •
