• UK Waste Management has plugged a hole in its Yorkshire operation by buying the waste collection business of Moore's of York.
The High Wvcombe-based company already has operations in Leeds, Bradford and Selby. It will take on Moore's existing commercial and residential customers in York, competing with local council services as well as private operators. UK Waste says all staff, including proprietors Joe and Corrina Moore, will stay on: the operation currently includes 10 dry waste collection vehicles. Management International and Wessex
Water, operates from 50 sites in the UK, provid ing waste management and environmental services. "It's a small hut strategic acquisition and will enable us to offer customers in York much more than just waste collection," says the company.
