Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

IN the last paragraph of the article by The Hawk in Birdseye View (CM January 19), he mentions a challenge by Multiparts' parts manager regarding their VOR guaranteed delivery scheme on parts and suggests other manufacturers cannot take up the challenge.

For the record, Volvo Trucks were the first to offer guaranteed parts delivery some four weeks before Leyland announced their version at the Motor Show. For your additional information our guaranteed parts delivery programme covers Volvo trucks and coaches up to eight years' old (that is some 28,000 vehicles) whilst Leyland's only covers vehicles registered after August 1984 (some 2,000 vehicles only).

The Hawk also suggested that some other manufacturer might raise the ante from Leyland's £100 per part to £150. Volvo's original offer was and still is £1,000 per part; no limit on number of parts per order.

I remain, as always, willing to demonstrate how we handle our parts orders and deliveries in order to provide the level of service that we do and which we are absolutely confident cannot be matched by any other UK truck manufacturer or importer, including Leyland/Multipart.
