DRIVERS of goods vehicli over 3.5tonnes must incluc private driving in their calci lations of hours worked.
This follows successful pri secutions by Sussex polic against drivers who abided t EEC hours during the courE of their work, but who alE used the vehicles for recres tion or private transport.
Hitherto, the Department 4 Transport did not apply tt regulations to private drivin, as it considered the main pu pose of the rules was to ha monise working conditior and the regulation of con petitive conditions.
