Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE ASSOCIATION of British Insurers (AB1) has confirmed that fitting winter tyres to CVs does not invalidate vehicle insurance.

During a radio interview last week an AA spokesman gave the impression that their use would invalidate insurance. The concern revolved around the possible fitment of winter tyres with a speed rating lower than the standard specification.

"Fitting snow tyres wouldn't be considered a material modification that would impact on the premium. so [insurers] would not expect to be notified that they had been fitted," says the ABI. -What is im portant is that anyone considering having these tyres fitted ensures that this is done by a reputable garage or dealer."
