authorisation to base 11 velii • des and the same number of trailers at the Britvic Soft Drinks operating centre in Wellington Parkway, Magna Park, I ,utterworth, Leics.

In October, Britvic announced that its main transport operation will transfer from Wincanton to Stobart by 9 April 2011 in a three-year, multimillion-pound agreement.

Wincanton has signed a three-year warehousing operation renewal with Britvic, based at the Luttemorth site.

David Irlam, Stobart Group executive director, business development, believes his firm's pay-as-you-go transport model, multi-modal carbon reduction ability, and online track-and-trace helped win the deal.

He adds: "There is better flexibility in the pay-asyou-go business, and in the world of soft drinks, you need to provide flexibility for seasonal peaks if you are going to outsource your transport" The Britvic contract has been managed by Wincanton since 2007 and the operator has begun a consultation with 89 staff based at Lutterworth; Beckton, London: Leeds; Norwich, Norfolk; and Widford, Oxon.

Stobart is looking to remove its facility at Ashfordby Storage in Sa x by Road, Melton Mowbray. from its licence.
