Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

As regular reader of your magazine, I would like to comment on your roadtests. You talk to operators about the reliability and "driver appeal" of a truck, be it a tractor; rigid, or even a van.

OK, the truck's comfort, access and operation may be important, but what about the trailer/body?

What with your Trailer of the Year competition showing the versatility of the road haulage industry, isn't the trailer or the body important to the operator—or is itjust something to carry the load?

I remember that a few years ago your sister magazine Truck tested some trailers—flatbed, curtainsider, box and tipper with a Renault R360 purely to evaluate the bodies.

Stuart Nicholls, Aylesbury, Rucks.

• The body is certainly of critical importance, Mr Nicholls, but there is no realistic way to evaluate every possible body that could be fitted to any particular truck. CM owns its own semi trailers so we can come up with a fair comparison between tractors—and of course we carry regular news from the nadybuilding sector, as well as recognising its Importance in our Trailer of the Year awards—Ed.
