DENNING of Brisbane, Austraia, a company in the Leyland Australia group, has allowed the Denning threeaxle coach to be built in New Zealand by the Mount Cook and Southern Lakes Tourist Company Ltd. Express and tour coaches are to be produced at the rate of 24 a year. The company decided to build its own coaches because the chances of gaining licences to import more coaches from Australia is remote.

Also in Australia MTT, the Perth transport authority, has introduced a MAN articulated bus on a city centre service. This bus is specially equipped with locally produced air conditioning units.
