THE SENIOR TRAFFIC commissioner and chief executive of Vosa will go head-to-head at Commercial Motor Live: Beverley Bell and Alastair Peoples will present the enforcement seminar at the event on 4 October.

Conference delegates will get the chance to put the two under the spotlight at the Q&A session that follows their presentations.

Other freshly conirmed speakers at the two-day event include Towergate Insurance MD Larry Smith, who will be highlighting the crash for cash scandal and how telematics can help reduce your premiums. Towergate will also be exhibiting.

Other seminars will cover: road transport legislation (presented by Backhouse Jones), managing drivers, out-of-hours deliveries, the impact of Euro-6 and tyre labelling, as well as eficiency best practice.

Commercial Motor Live will be held on 3-4 October at Millbrook Proving Ground. The event comprises not only the conference programme, but also an exhibition (see exhibitors list below) and the chance to ride and drive some of the latest trucks from Isuzu Truck, Mercedes-Benz, Renault Trucks, Scania and Volvo.

Mercedes has revealed more detail about its vehicles at the event: it will have three variants of the Antos (4x2 18-tonne Bevan21 curtainsider at 238hp; 6x2 25-tonne Bevan21 curtainsider at 320hp; and a 6x2 25-tonne curtainsider at 394hp), and two versions of the New Actros (4x2 40-tonner and 6x2 44-tonner, both at 449hp). It will also have a Fuso Canter TF 6C18D 4x4 rigid and a Unimog U500 SWB. Dual-fuel versions of the out-going Actros and the Axor developed by Hardstaff will also be available.

Scania has also conirmed that a Euro-5 R730 Topline tractor will join the previously announced Euro-5 R560 LA6x2, Euro-5 G400 LA4x2, and a Euro-6 R 440 LA6x2 Highline. Scania hopes to have a Euro-5 P360 CB8x4 tipper at the event as well.

Isuzu Truck’s ride and drive leet was conirmed a month ago (CM 5 July). We hope to conirm Renault’s and Volvo’s leets soon.
