WELSH HAULIER Owens Road Services hopes to create up to 200 jobs after signing a deal for a new factory site in Port Talbot.

The operator is currently in talks with a large international company over a deal which will concentrate on storage.

The company has taken the site at Baglan Energy Park in anticipation of finalising this deal.

LesWatts,commercial manager at Owens Road Services, reports that the 11.900m2 site will he in addition to its current site at Dafen and is likely to result in the creation of 150-200 jobs, with no job losses among the firm's current staff of 460. "There will be some positions for drivers in that number,"Watts adds.

The company is believed to have taken a 15-year lease on the Port Talbot site, which is likely to become its headquarters.
