A spokesman at the epartment told CM that the ahicles would be Bedford, 4in trucks, and Land-Rovers, it because of the delay in ipply of new vehicles, the epartment would obtain om the Army second-hand )hicles which it would then 'place with new stock at a ter date. The vehicles will 3 used to what the Departent describes as "foresee)le disasters" such as mine, drought, locust, ague and earthquake in 'est Africa, Etheopia, India Id Bangladesh, .although ey will be available for ovement to any of the iveloping countries, should e need arise.
The Department has set ide £1/2 in to purchase the hides and have them msported to -the operainal centres.
