AT the time of going to press. it Was understood that R.N. (75), which contains proposals relating to higher nightduty and subsistence rates for Aand B-licensed haulage workers, was to be issued today.

The increases, which were approved by the Wages Council in June (The Commercial Motor, June 21), are to raise from 8d. to lid, an hour the rates for work between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., and to put the subsistence allowance up from 18s. to 20s. a night.

A 14-day period is allowed after publication of such proposals. during which objections can be raised with the Wages Council, which then meets again to consider its proposals in the light of the objections.
