Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Williams House, 821 Woolwich Road, SET. THE BASIS of the Strafoplan system marketed by this company is a simple toughened-polystyrene pen-slot section which takes T-shaped record cards. This section is available in five different widths and it is possible to build a planning board of any size required.

After a board has been built up from the required number of pen-slot sections it is held in the vertical plane by slim steel rods that are hidden from view. A backing of sheet plastics is added making the board a rigid construction. To complete the board upper and lower label bearer strips are fitted.

The five widths of section available take cards 10mm (0,375in.), 30mm (1.125in.); 50mm (1.875in.), 70mm I2.625in.) and 120mm (4.5in.) wide. The cards are supplied in a variety of lengths, the widest being almost 5in. long and they are available in a variety of colours.

A feature of the Strafoplan system is its flexibility and one example of the way in which it can be used in a vehicle workshop is for a vertical strip of wide sections to be at the left of the board with narrow slots on the right. Job cards would be inserted in the left-hand column with the horizontal rows used to chart progress on the job through the shops, different coloured cards being used to denote the department (possibly with the man's name written on the exposed portion of the card) and with dates indicated on the upper label section.

Strafoplan sections can be made into static, wall-mounted boards or rotating boards with hook-on sliding sections and singleand double-faced swinging panels are also available. Data as requested by the customer can be printed on the cards and they can be supplied with protective plastics sleeves which are particularly useful in dirty conditions,
