THE PCL portable pressure brake bleed unit enables brake bleeding to be performed by one man and it can be used to bleed hydraulically operated throttle systems as found on a rear-engined psv. Designed for connecting to a garage air-supply line giving a pressure of 1 50 psi, the unit provides a safe working fluid pressure, which is automatically regulated. The unit designated the mobile model has a fluid capacity of 21gal while the capacity of the portable model is 1gal.
The vehicle master-cylinder reservoir is bled through adaptor caps fitted with bleed screws and the reservoir is automatically topped up. It is claimed that aeration of the brake fluid is impossible by virtue of a vented air space between the fluid and air cylinder. And the brake fluid is stored in a separate compartment to obviate contamination by foreign matter or moisture.
