• A. C. Penman Ltd, Heathhall, Dumfries, has just completed the first of a new design of swop body container which allows for side loading from each side by fork lift truck.
The container was built for L B Plastics of Derby, which already operates five conventional rear loading Penman swop bodies, and the new design is claimed to be demountable from its Seddon or BMC chassis by means of Penman's hand hydraulic system in under 4-1,minutes by the driver.
The curtain-sided box container measures 21ft long x 8ft 24in. wide x 9ft high, and costs approximately £900.
