Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TURNERS (SOHAM) LTD., whose I main operations are at Fordham, Cambridge, were this week granted an additional collection and delivery vehicle for trunk service feeder work to operate from their Manchester depot. But their plea for an extension of radius to 40 mites (the two existing vehicles being limited to 35 miles) was turned down by Mr. A. H. Jolliffe, the North Western deputy Licensing Authority, because there was no positive evidence of customer inconvenience. He told Mr. 1. Backhouse, for Turners, that at the licence renewal in June further evidence could be 'adduced if desired.

The application was opposed by British Railways and British Road Services.

Mr. R. H. Cook, general manager a Turners, said the trunk services operated from Fordham and Norwich to Manchester had increased greatly since 1959, when the two existing collection and delivery vehicles were granted.

There were now 32 vehicles involved, 16 from Manchester being balanced by eight each night from Fordham and Norwich. Difficulties involving unnecessary transhipments were occurring on traffic to Leeds and Hawarden for principal customers; hence the additional mileage sought and the extra vehicle applied for.
