• Aftermarket supplier Partco believes its CV parts sales will grow further after posting a 46% surge in pre-tax profits to £2.9m last week. Sales nudged up 3.2% to £65.5m but better productivity and tighter cost controls pushed operating profits up 21.4% to £3.2m.
Managing director Peter Redfern says the sector contributed to its growth where sales in some other sectors declined. The CV sector is becoming healthier as the recovery continues, he says, but prices of spare parts for commercial vehicles are barely rising—they were little more than 1% higher than last year.
