• lntermodal 92, will feature a presentation by the Dutch transport research institute of its study into a European rail, barge, road terminal and cargo distribution centre network.
Representatives from the European Commission will be discussing the report at the exhibition which will be held in The Hague between 27-29 October.
The event, to be opened by transport minister, Roger Freeman, will also cover the commercial realities of multimodal transport.
Speakers include Neelie Kroes, chair of the Holland International Distribution Council and former Dutch Transport Minister, Rune Svensson, president of Volvo and Pierre Massie, chair of the UNICE transport committee.
There will also be an exhibition of more than 160 companies showing off their latest container and intermodal equipment.
