Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• General Motors and Isuzu have finally launched their joint venture company at the Luton van plant that was previously operated by Bedford Commercial Vehicles.

The new company, IBC Vehicles, plans to increase production from 19,873 vans last year to 40,000 a year by 1990.

It hopes to reach these production levels by launching new models and increasing sales in Europe.

The company will not disclose its plans for new models, but does not rule out collaboration with other manufacturers. It does confirm that the Scottish Show is unlikely to be the venue for the company's first model launch.

The Bedford name is likely to be retained for vehicles sold in Britain; IBC has not yet decided how it will market the vehicles in Europe, nor how they will be badged there.

The management structure at IBC is still being finalised, but will consist of 21 managers, including a president from Isuzu (currently waiting for his work permit), with Nick Reilly from GM as vicepresident. IBC is 60% owned by GM and 40% by Isuzu.
