Peter Foden, chairman and chief executive of ERF, botanist and lover of all creatures great and small, this week spoke at a lunch sponsored by ERF in aid of the Cheshire Wildlife Appeal Fund.

Foden took advantage of the occasion to explain to the col lected guests and dignitaries all the research and development being undertaken by his company to improve safety and limit the noise and emission levels of trucks.

"Nobody has yet found an alternative form of moving goods, or for that matter people to meet the needs of a modern society," he said, "Hence the need for our product to meet the highest standards of safety that can be achieved."
