Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• A new remote drawbar coupling system has been developed by VBG Concessionaires of Kettering, Northants. The kit comes in two sizes, to suit different drawbar pin sizes, and it takes about two days to fit, says VBG.

The larger 820 kit with the power actuator costs around 21,862 plus VAT when fitted by the factory.

The company claims the remote coupling kit prevents the problem of lines being tangled underneath the combination, and the hassle of lying under the coupling trying to couple up the drawbar unit.

The remote system can be operated with a manual pin lift or a power actuator. With the power actuator the operator simply opens the coupling using the switch on the side, then, by reversing the tractor onto the trailer, the trailer loop will trigger the system to release the pin and couple the drawbar. The pin is powered up and down to prevent jamming problems on uneven ground.

Customers for the system, which also features quick release air and electrical couplings on the side of the chassis, so far include BOC Transhield, United Carriers and London Carriers.
