nRDERS recently announced by AEC Ltd. include 30 Mandator tractive units for the W. Russell group of companies and 12 similar units for J. and A. Smith of Maddiston Ltd. The above vehicles will feature the new Ergomatic tilt cab and AEC six-cylinder, dry-liner, in-line diesel engine.
Bowyers of Trowbridge are to standardize on 'AEC vehicles for the heavy haulage side of their delivery fleet and have placed a repeat order for 10 units, of these. six will be Mercury four-wheel rigids, two will he Mammoth Major eight-wheelers and the remaining two Mandator tractive units. The rigid vehicles will he fitted with insulated bodywork and the tractive units will operate with semi-trailers fitted with insulated bodies.

More Tankers for Gloster Saro Glostet Saro Ltd., a Hawker Siddeley company. has received an order from Regent Oil Co. Ltd. for 16 two-compartment articulated tankers and a single-compartment. glass-reinforced plastics tanker. The tankers will have a capacity of 5,000 gal, of fuel oil within a g.t.w. of 30 tons, and will be fitted with electrically-driven discharge pumps. The plastics tank is the first of its kind to he ordered by Regent and will be used for assessment purposes.
Huddersfield Buys Dempster Equipment: Huddersfield County Borough Council. using Dempster materials handling equipment, has launched a waste-disposal service for local industry. Worth E9,000, the Dempster equipment was made and supplied by Powell Duffryn Engineering Co. Ltd., of Cardiff. It comprises 40 8-cu.-yd. and two 5-cu.-yd. demountable containers and a DempsterDumpster handling unit on a Commer 7-ton chassis.
