UUNDER Article 1.0 of the TIR ConyenLf don, the various national Customs authorities are empowered to fix a time limit and an itinerary which the vehicle most follow for journeys in their countries' territory...

In view of if IMIllber of difficulties which have recently arisen as a result of the application of this provision, IRU has requested the ECE to recommend Customs authorities to show a more reasonable tolerance in applying Article 10. In particular, hauliers have suffered where Customs have applied too short a time limit for the TIR journey.
