A SUGGESTION that heavy goods PA lorries should be covered with bright iridescent tarpaulin was put forward fait week by an inquest jury at Stoke-uponTrent after a coroner had expressed concern at the number of motorway fatalities caused when cars ran into the back of slow-moving vehicles. The jury foreman at the inquest said: "Rear lights are inclined to give a false impression of distance and speed. If these lorries, with their dark grey loads, were covered in bright tarpaulin it would be a great help."' The coroner said that he would forward the suggestion to the Ministry of Transport.
