Jones, the retiring chairman, traced the growth Of he Wisbech Subarea and paid tribute; to the vork of the secretary for the past seven years. Later in the meeting Mr. Tribe was unanimously elected Sub-area chair man, and, in turn, voiced high praise for the, work of Mr. Jones, who had been a member of the Association tOr. only a few months but had rapidly gained the leadership of the Sub-area; he .was now forced to resign the chairmanship because of his commitments with the M.O.W.T.

MR. M. C. WitsON has been nominated by Cowan and Co. to be the successor of the late Mr. J, Lumsden, who was with the same Glasgow concern, .as' a member of the sub-committee of the Controlled Undertakings Panel in Scotland MR. E. E. GARDISTER, the Specialloid representative for South Africa, is now on a .visit to Great l3ritain. He has worked for many years in that country on behalf of the company and on his way home spent some time in the Near East.

• Ma. R. P. BEDDOW -has been appointed :a director of Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., and of Blackpool Omnibus Stations, Ltd., in the place of Mr. S. E: Garcke, who has resigned. Both of these undertakings are members Of the British Electrical Traction group of bus companies, which owns and operates some 8,500 p.s. , vehicles in England and Wales.

• MR, ' GEOrtGE RTJSTON SHARPLEY, T.P., chairman and managing director of Ruston and Hornsby, Ltd., Lincoln, retires from the latter position at the end of the year. He will continue to be the chairman of the company. He ha been with the company for over 50 years and has occupied the office of managing director for practically '25 years. MR. VICTOR W.
