Transfrigoroute UK, the trade association representrig hauliers and manufactur era in the temperature-controlled sector, is changing the make-up of its board of directors to put greater emphasis on its operator members.

Previously the board comprised both operators and manufacturers, but now the 'associate members' have been pushed aside to allow hauliers a greater say in the issues the association tackles.

In addition, the board is being slimmed down from 12 directors to five, although it to do with operating prince may be expanded to seven at a later date.

Its technical committee has also been disbanded, but with more than 40 manufacturers among its membership, director Graham Eames says there is a huge pool of technical knowledge to turn to.

He adds: "The majority of issues that we as a group have to address from a quality and standards position are mainly dures and commercial aspects of the marketplace.

"Hence we are reducing the size of the board to make it clearer and more focused. We will be getting operators together to clarify what issues need sorting out."

The association is part of Transfrigoroute International, which represents both logistics giants and smaller reefer operators.
