SMT IN SCOTLAND • The Scottish Bedford dealership SMT is shutting its Aberdeen truck branch on Aliens Industrial Estate, Aberdeen. It will close on November 28.
SMT says this is a result of Bedford's announcement that it is stopping truck production, coupled with the failure of SMT to find a "viable unrepresented truck franchise in the Aberdeen area."
SMT's Bedford van operation in the town is being transferred to its VauxhallOpel car branch in Bon Accord Street, Aberdeen.
