A NEW electric reach truck, claimed to be the most advanced of any currently on the market, has been introduced by Montgomerie Reid Ltd.
Known as the R4, the range has a rated capacity of 1,5002,250kg (3,300-5,000 lb). Infinitely progressive acceleration al the reach carriage and gradua deceleration at the end of its stroke reduces wear and gives smooth operation.
A cam tracking arrangemeni can also be linked to the truck's power steering when working in tight stacking aisles.
The driver sits in a Safety Cell which gives maximum protection and visibility. Resilient suspension has been incorporatec into the drive/steer units anc mast assembly thus improving driver comfort and protecting both the truck and load.
The transmission can be removed in a few minutes and a plug-in fault detector incorporated in the control panel allows a service engineer to isolate any electrical fault quickly.
A modified version of the Rel range is available for use in Colc Store applications.
