Array of Trailers of Various Types and Designed for a Variety of Purposes. Tracks for Rigid Six-wheelers

Stand 23

NO space has been wasted on the stand of the Tasker concern, a wide variety of its products being on view.

A popular model is a 5-6-ton quickly detachable semi-trailer, shown with tractor ramp. This is mounted on a trolley for manual operation in order that visitors may appreciate its points. The demonstration apparatus is equipped with a valve operating the vacuum brakes OIL the trailer, and with a detachable coupling for the pipe line. The semi-trailer has a platform body measuring 16 ft. by 6 ft. 6 ins. All the well-known and proved Tasker features are incorporated, including the trunnion pins mounted on the trailing portion for stability, the forged rear cross-bracing and the quick-action legraising apparatus.

Next we come to a 10-12-ton detachable semi-trailer for concentrated loads. It is expressly designed for use in conjunction with a 4-6-ton tractor chassis. A portion of the platform is dropped, affording a loading height of 2 ft.

E64 8 ins. The rear bogie carries detachable wheels in twin formation, each pair having brakes operated by separate Dewandre vacuum-servo cylinders.

An example of a four-wheel trailer

is seen in a 7-8-ton machine fitted out for the special requirements of brewers' haulage. An interesting item of the turntable is that it is of the patent roller-bearing type.

For the carriage of timber. an allsteel machine is exhibited. The hack

bone is fomied by a steel tube with the Core-carriage and bolster at one end, and a swivelling carriage also equipped with a bolster at the other end. The object of the swivelling rear carriage is that it may conform with irregularities on the road, the mounting enabling it to turn about the tube.

Variousassemblies and units used in the construction of Tasker products are shown separately.—Taskers, of Andover (1932), Ltd., Andover, Hants.
