VISITORS interested in six-wheeler conversion sets will find many details worthy of notice on the Bedford 3-ton short-wheelbase chassis which is shown converted into a 6ton six-wheeler. The unladen weight of the complete vehicle, as shown, is under 21 tons and it is, therefore, subject to a tax of £30. The brakes on the trailing axle are operated through two Dewandre servo units. A balancer is provided and is mounted and guided on heavy roller bearings, to increase the road adhesion of the driving wheels. A transverse inverted spring prevents slip of the trailing wheels. The cab is of streamlinet design and the platform body is 12 ft. 6 ins, long with a 2-in. chock . rail and removable panels
