I NTRODTJCED some twelve months

ago, the Maudslay SF40 chassis for single-deck coathwork is worthy of close inspection. A model is to be seen with a streamlined coach body built by H. V.Burlingham, Ltd.; a feature being the diagonal seats which give additional width for the passengers' shoulders.So far as the chassis is concerned, it -is of interest to note the manner. hi :which the front axle has been set back so that the area ahead of the axle is how included in 'the body space.' _ Good riding 'comfort is obtained, due to the fact that the front and rear-axle . loads are practically equal. '

Two further examples of this model are available, one 'With d& luxe-coach bodywork by the Duple concern, and the other as a streamlined coach with a Brush body. A feature of the latter is that the unladen weight of the complete vehicle is but 5 tons 8 cw t . .

The fourth exhibit is the new PrIL5 model. This is powered by a four cyliuderecl 5.3-litre engine, and it is seen equipped with a. Willowbrook 39seater dual-purpose body incorporating a swept roof with a sliding head.

Maudslay • Six-Four 71-ton . goods model. This is powered by a Gardner 4LW oil engine, and is shown in chassis form. A working model of the Hobbs automatic infinitely variable gear, which has been developed by the Maudslay concern, is also given prominence on the stand.
