Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

,r -Variety of Trailers Ranging from 10-cwt. to 15-ton Capacity, with Special Features : also 6-8-ton Semi-trailer

Stand 90

I Nr view of its wide experience in the production of unusual, types of trailer, particularly of the heavier varieties, the Dyson concern may always be relied upon to provide an interesting display. Amongst the features of this make of trailer are the use of two-stage springs, Dewandre-Lockheed brakes, • pressedsteel frame and cruciform bracing.

The if-ton eight-wheeler, with an c);Ik platform 18 ft. long and 7 ft. wide, mounted upon a pressed-steel taperingsection frame, with end members and outriggers of similar material, is worthy of close 'attention, particularly in view of the clever method by Means of which the oscillating springs are fitted. The turntable is of a patented frameless roller-bearing type, whilst the trunnionended oscillating springs, of silica-manganese steel, are mounted upon, plate hangers. The brakes are automatically applied should the trailer become detached from the motive unit.

The lightweight 8-ton model, with a pressed-steel body frame of tapering section, tubular cross-members, cruciform pulling bolster and patented rollerbearing turntable, is another noteworthy exhibit. The drawbar is of two piece construction, and a turntable locating device is provided to facilitate backing, whilst a puncture alarm is fitted to each wheel.

Widely separated, so far as load capacity is concerned, but equally deserving of inspection, are the 5-6-ton trailer with a 14-ft. by 7-ft. oak platform, and a two-wheeled 10-cwt, trailer having a special body suitable for use as a market stall.

Finally, the marked tendency towards the use of lightweight articulated sixwheelers is catered for by a semi-trailer attachment with a deal platform 20 ft. icing and 7 ft. wide for carrying 8-10 ton loads. The wheels are interchangeable with those of the Diamond-T tractor unit.

The body is mounted upon a tapering-section pressed-steel chassis frame. The silica-manganese-steel two-stage springs have cross-braced shackles. Dewandre-Lockheed servo brakes are employed.—R. A. Dyson and Co., Ltd., 76-8Q, Grafton Street, Liverpool.
