REPRESENTATIVE of several important classes, six models arc_ exhibited by the Albion concern, That which appears to be attracting • the most interest at the Show is the concern's new 4f-tonner, which has a chassis weighing 34 cwt., thus affording an adequate margin for substantial bodywork without leaving the 2f-ton cla.ss, II is shown as a long-wheelbase lorry with 16 ft. of body space. The vehicle has been built for Thomas Allen, Ltd., for the haulage-Of Guinness in 12-Cwt. barrels, and •has a body; made by the North London Engineer.

ing .1. . The machine will repay, a careful study,' its special interest lying' in themeans dopted for•gaving'Weight ubthout loss of strength. Every detail seems to have received careful.. attention. The power . unit is ,a 65 b.h.p. 1 petrol en-gine... In the course of a 'road test 1 o which it was submitted recently1 by this 'paper, this model 127, as it" is ' designated, gave under difficult. condi.' tions a consumption-test return of about 12! m.p.g.

Built to the order of Messrs. W. J. Simms, a London haulier, and carrying a body made by the same concern as in the case of the 4fitonner, another interesting exhibit is a 6-7f-ton lorry in[h e maximum-load four-wheeler class. Here again weight reduction has

been skilfully effected. . The main alterations that have been made to this machine, since it was introduced tWo years ago, include the installation of Dewandre triple servo brakes, and the improved radiator. , The third goods vehicle on view is a maximum-load six-wheeler; its

capacity is 12-13 tons, and the model exhibited has double drive, although a trailing-axle-type bogie is available. It is powered by a 110 b.h.p. sixcylinders-fl petrol engine of the wellknown Albion high-camshaft design. With a mean wheelbase of 15 ft. 9 ins. the lorry shown has a 19-ft. 9-in. floor.

A feature of great interest is the fact that no fewer than five servo cylinders

are incorporated in the brake . gear. Four of these figure in the font system. • there being two for operating the four bogie-wheel brakes and two mounted on thestub axles to work the brakes on the front wheels.. The fifth is included, in the hand-brake 'system—an unusual practice, but .one which this -paper has advocated in the' past.

The lightest goods vehicle shown is a normal-control 2-2f tanner.. The machine is a long whéCltiaseniodel . built , for Carter Paterson and Co., Ltd., . having

tilt-type body., with integral eab manufactured .1) the 'EX-pres-s'' .Motearand Body Works. •

Anuong the passenger exhibits are 'a Valiant '32seater single-decker . with ' a coach body by Duple, and :a. Victor 32seater with a body of similar make. The foriner vehicle has an AlbicinRieardo oil engine, which develops 74 b.h.p. The latter is destined for Kenya Motor Services . (Mombasa), Ltd.—Albion Motors • Limited, Scots.toun, 'Glasgow, W.4.
