MR. J. WATT, M.I.A.E., A.Inst.T., has taken up the position' of chief engineer with Lang Wheels (Manufacturing), Ltd., Hillingdon Heath, Uxbridge, Middlesex ; consequently, he has given up his consulting practice. The company was formed originally to manufacture laminated wood wheels for artillery, rolling stock, etc. It now undertakes the production of practically any engineering unit built up from a combination of wood and metal.

On his retirement, last week, from the position of hon. secretary of the North Western Section of the Institution of Automobile Engineers (Manchester), which he has held for seven years, Mr, J, R. SHEPLEY was made a presentation, on behalf of members, by Mr. A. J. Hasmocx, the national president. Mr. Shepley, who has been elected a vice-chairman, is succeeded as hon. secretary by Mr. J. R. CROSS, who is with Mr. B. J. BRAITHWAITE (Northern area sales manager) at the district offices of Scaminell Lorries, Ltd . , Manchester.
