THE Road Haulage Association's 1,385 to 12,732.

The Metropolitan and Southeast area was the worst hit, losing 282 members, ending 1981 with a total of 1,771.

The Devon and Cornwall area suffered least, with a reduction in membership of only 23, bring ing the total down to 369.

East Midland's membership went from 1,141 to 1,040, while Eastern was down from 1,061 to 988. Hull's loss was 46, taking the total down to 253. The Leeds area fell from 634 to 567.
