Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Weighing Scale

THE President of the Board of Trade / was asked, in the House of Commons last week, by Mr. De la Bere whether he would consider amending the Weights and Measures Regulations whereby coal merchants were compelled to carry, on their lorries, scales and weights, weighing about 4 cwt. This equipment was not used, whilst a safe guard was provided by county-council inspectors who furnished their own weights. By discontinuance of the practice extra coal could be carried oneach vehicle, and the iron of the scales and weights would be made available for war weapons?

Mr. Dalton replied that he was already considering representations he had received to this effect, and had asked for the views of the interests concerned.
