Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Gloucestershire police have launched a crackdown on drivers who break the hours rules.

Operation Enforcer was prompted by a series of serious accidents which involved tired drivers, of foreign trucks in particular; it will focus on the Gloucestershire section of the MS motorway.

Last August driver William Lanham fell asleep at the wheel of a 40-tonner, killing a 51-yearold father of three. He was jailed for three years and banned from driving for10 years.

Gloucestershire police spokesman Dave Avery says: "There have been some very serious road collisions during the past two years involving foreign-registered vehicles, all of which have been a direct result of driver fatigue."
