THE WEATHER may he showing signs of improving, but there is not much chance of roadworks going away. Below is a list of all the major schemes which could cause delays to operators. Our report is compiled with the help of the AA Roadwatch at Stan more • Ml, Northamptonshire. Sections of the northbound carriageway between junction 15 and 16 (Collingtree and Hey ford) will be closed during the day and night for eatseye replacement. (traffic to use hard shoulder.) • Ml, Northamptonshire. A reminder that until further notice the southbound entry and northbound exit slip roads at junction 18 are closed for roundabout reconstruction. Diversions are operating via the AS and A45.

• M45, Northants. One lane closed on both carriageways for resurfacing.

• Al, Nottinghamshire. To cater for carriageway repairs the southbound section between North Muskham and Winthorpe will be closed for three weeks from Monday, March 10. A contraflow system will be operated during this period.

• Mll, Essex. Northbound carriageway at junction 5 (Chigwell) will be reduced to two lanes until April due to repair work.

• M4, Avonmouth. Essential repairs to the road surface of the eastbound span of the Severn Bridge will cause the closure of the left-hand lane. Work will be carried out over the next eight weekends starting at 7pm on Friday and lasting until 3pm Sunday. Major delays are not expected, although traffic building up during the Saturday and Sunday mid-day periods may cause short delays of up to 10 minutes. The Hogarth Bridge at Chiswick will be closed between 8am and 6pm on Sunday, March 16, to assist development works. The bridge carries eastbound traffic from Burlington Lane over Hogarth roundabout and on to the Great West Road (A4) and may be closed on subsequent weekends if the work is not finished on Match 16.

• M8, Cockerton, Darlington. Minor traffic delays due to resurfacing works. Traffic lights in operation.

• A422 Old Stratford bypass (between Old Stratford and Deanshanger). Temporary traffic lights and lane closures operating for the next three months.
