Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The standard range of Merriworth TIR semi-trailers has been added to this week with a 12-metre model. The first unit has just been delivered to Pennant Shipping Ltd. of Grays, Essex. By achieving a clear internal width of 95.25in. the Merriworth 12-metre semi-trailer has the advantage of being able to accommodate two lm by 1.2m Continental pallets side by side.

Lightweight interlocking-alloy plank drop-sides, always 2-metres long irrespective of trailer size, are standard. They are retained by flush-fitting lever catches arranged so that they are covered by the tilt sides when the vehicle is sealed for Customs. The tilt lashing rings are freemounted on a rail recessed into the bodyside to protect them from damage. The free-mounting permits slight variations in the eye-measurements of the tilts used, due either to shrinkage or manufacturing discrepancies. Merriworth tilts are made from a polyester-based material and can be supplied with a translucent roof panel.

Main frames of 18in. by 5in. are tapered up to clear the fifth-wheel plate and have the 0.5in. bottom flange doubled up from a point 5ft behind the landing gear to the front of the trailer. Unitized bogies are supplied with either 7in.or 8in.-wide brake units.
