Ministry of Transport were commented on by a committee of M.P.s examining the total of £175 m. of Government supplementary estimates presented in the past three months, Over £100,000 of the Ministry's anticipated loss is in connection with the vehicle testing scheme.

In addition, the Ministry expects to collect £43,000 less from p.s.v. licences and £25,000 less from goods vehicle licences, The shortfall in p.s.v. receipts is mainly technical but the reduction in goods vehicle licence revenue is partly explained by a higher than usual incidence of non-renewal of C licences and a slight decline in the issue of other types of licence.

Goods licences are now expected to provide 006,000 for 1962-63.
