THE LIPE Clutch division of the Lipe-Rollway Corporation has been sold to another American group, Echlin Incorporated, which manufactures electrical, brake, fuel and power transmission parts.
Lip: makes clutch assemblies at Haslingden, Lancashire as well as at two plants in the USA.
Echlin subsidiaries in Europe include Berg Manufacturing of Blackburn, which makes air brake system components.
Roto-Master and Rajay of Huddersfield, two companies which make turbochargers and waste gates for petrol and diesel engines, and Grauhreinse of West Germany, another air brake component manufacturer, are also in the Echlin group.
