A WATNLY MANN brew.. ing subsidiary has used demountable drawbar lorries to 'eut its Scottish warehousing space and streamline its order processing into the bargain.
Drybroughs has invested in three Volvo F7 six-wheel trunking vehicles with drawbar trailers, seven Ford Cargo 16-ton urban delivery ve,hicles and 18 Boalloy Tautliner bodies built on Ray. Smith demountable underframes for its Scottish deliveries.
The Volvos are based at the company's Craigniillar brewery and distribution centre in Edinburgh and are used on a twice-daily shuttle operation to a stockless depot in Glasgow. before, it needed
a separate warehouse in Glasgow.
The Cargo rigids operate on delivery work from Glasgow, and loaded bodies are stored overnight in Scottish Road Services' compound at Possilpark, north Glasgow. As the demountable bodies can be loaded in Edinburgh for deliveries from Glasgow to any Scottish customer, Drybroughs' order processing system has also been streamlined to eliminate intermediate handling.
