FOUR. Midlands haulage companies— H. Beardsley, Ltd., Derby; Hawley Bros., Ltd., Nottingham; Shakespeare, Simpson and Cook, Ltd., Somercotes; and New Birchwood Properties, Ltd., also of Somercotes—have decided to combine their activities. Although the companies' present names will be kept, they are to be subsidiaries of a new holding company, Shakespeare (Holdings), Ltd., Ascot Drive, Derby, and will offer a coordinated haulage service, their vehicles totalling over 70. They will continue their supply of aggregates and coal, but their tippers and platform vehicles will work as a group, operating from new depots at Somercotes, Derby and Nottingham.' Contract hire of vehicles will also be undertaken.
