Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

rrE nationalized road haulage and bus undertakings should not be fettered by being made subject to the control of transport consultative committees, said Lord Chesharn in the Lords this week.

Criticizing an Opposition move to amend the Transport Bill, by bringing the Holding Company's concerns under the control of these committees, Lord Chesham said: "1 certainly do not believe that the companies to be grouped under the Holding Company should be

subjected to this control when their competitors are not, for if that were done, the commercial freedom which the Bill seeks to give them would be hampered," he declared.

Lord Mills, Minister without Portfolio. promised that the Government would amend the Bill to remove the restriction on the Nationalized Transport Advisory Council only to discuss matters put before it by the Minister. The Government were setting up a body which could honestly advise the Minister.
