AT their meeting in London last week the Passenger Vehicle Operators Association unanimously elected Mr. William Dodds of Troon, Ayrshire, as chairman of • the national council. He succeeds Mr. Arthur Bolton, .whose term of office has expired. Mr. Dodds is managing director of Dodds Coaches, Ltd., having succeeded his father in the family business built up in Troon by that pioneer in 1910. Today his company, still a family concern, operates over 40 large and small passenger vehicles on all types of public transport—short daily services, longdistance express services and tours. He is also chairman of A.A. Motor Services, Ltd., of Ayr, who run nearly 40 buses.
